There are many cold lasers to choose from, and more coming out all the time. How do you make the right choice?
Your choice of laser should be based upon your application, or how you intend to use it.
- If you want to treat superficial conditions such as skin and wound care, acne, burns and wrinkles then choose a red light laser.
- If you want to treat musculoskeletal conditions, soft tissue injuries, repetitive strain disorders, arthritis and joint pain then choose an infrared laser. No not an infrared light. Choose a true, coherent, columnated infrared laser in the 808-905nm spectrum with an output of 200-500mW of power.
- If you want to balance and harmonize organs and glands then choose a Q1000 harmonizing laser.
- If you want to treat body and ear points (acupuncture and auricular therapy), then choose either a single diode laser or a multi-diode laser with the ability to focus all diodes on a single point. More power equals shorter treatment times. This can be important if you are a busy practitioner.
Some lasers incorporate all of these features into one laser emitter head and other cold laser manufacturers offer bundled packages with laser probe accessories sold optionally. It’s completely up to you. Treating conditions with a healing laser is like playing golf. You would never think about playing the entire game with just one iron. If you want to treat the widest range of conditions you either need a bundled cold laser package with individual probes and clusters or you need and all in one combo laser in which the variety of diodes spoken about above are all incorporated into a single emitter head and then the output is controlled by an intelligent microprocessor.
